Why the calculator asks for watts
Variable-speed savings depend on the hydraulic work, programmed speed, plumbing, pump design, and operating schedule. ENERGY STAR notes that slower operation can use substantially less energy, but this tool avoids assuming one savings percentage for every pool. Entering actual power values makes the comparison auditable.
