How the estimate works
Energy use equals power in kilowatts multiplied by operating hours. The result in kilowatt-hours is multiplied by the selected electricity price. PowerCostAtlas starts with the latest available EIA residential state average and lets you replace it with the exact cents-per-kWh rate from your utility bill.
The estimate covers electricity consumption only. It does not add fixed monthly utility charges, taxes, demand charges, tiered pricing, or time-of-use adjustments.
