Power draw is not always constant

A PC's wall power varies with hardware, workload, frame rate, display setup, and power limits. Measure at the wall for the best estimate.

State effect

Same usage, different electricity price

How the estimate works

Energy use equals power in kilowatts multiplied by operating hours. The result in kilowatt-hours is multiplied by the selected electricity price. PowerCostAtlas starts with the latest available EIA residential state average and lets you replace it with the exact cents-per-kWh rate from your utility bill.

The estimate covers electricity consumption only. It does not add fixed monthly utility charges, taxes, demand charges, tiered pricing, or time-of-use adjustments.
